Leaders In Training

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13

Leaders in Training is a discipleship and ministry training program for students in 5th and 6th grades, developed by Dr. Clint May of Fort Worth, TX.  This program seeks to intentionally disciple children in small groups with a committed mentor teacher. Each week, students will meet in their small groups to pray together, study and memorize scripture, and encourage one another as they grow in their faith.

After small group time, L.I.T. students join Nehemiah Kids (3rd and 4th grade students) in a time of ministry training. The ministry training changes each semester, but it seeks to utilize the gifts and talents of the children in the program to build up and serve the church and the community. During the Spring 2018 semester, L.I.T. and Nehemiah Kids will be meeting together to form a children’s choir.

Each summer, L.I.T. students have a chance to participate in a mission trip with other L.I.T. students from across the country. Our church will be participating in the Willow Park, TX trip, scheduled for July 22-27, 2018.
